Pat Carroll held two hands-on classes with MSWG - one on Sunday, April 26 and the other on Monday, April 27, Both classes were held at Rick Stone's shop.
Big THANK YOU to Rick Stone for hosting Pat, the Friday night Meet and Greet, and two days of classes,

Comments from the students:
I thought the class was a good value and that Pat was a great instructor. Explained and demoed things very clearly. Great techniques displayed. His personnel attention was outstanding.
The hands-on class could not have been much better. Pat kept it high paced and moved along at the speed of the more advanced turners. He did not slow the group to meet the newer turners’ skill levels; instead he gave the newer turners the individual attention they needed to move their project along.
Example - I observed one student having trouble. Pat approached him and asked what the problem was. The student told him he mostly used carbide tools. Pat’s response - “then use them, they will work” and followed up by showing the student how to better use his carbide tools. That is the mark of a really good instructor.
Pat did not try to sell anything, a real positive for me. One of the biggest turnoffs for me is when everything the instructor shows/teaches involves only the tools and products he/she sells.
The hands-on class cost was a bargain. I did not have to drive for hours and I slept in my own bed. I would have paid $250 for Pat’s class. (For comparison’s sake, the cost per day for a class at any of the major schools like J C Campbell Folk School or Arrowmont is at least $180 with twice as many students.)
Bottom line - I would take another hands-on class with Pat any time. I hope MSWG schedules Pat for 2027.
