Mentoring - Hollow forms, Small bowls, Small platters, Basket Illusion, Salt & Pepper Grinds, Pyrography, and Piercing

Bob Wolfe

I have been an engineer for nearly a half century. I have always been good with my hands and mechanically inclined. My venture into woodworking back in 2005 as relaxation from long trips starting up a pulp mill in Americana Brazil. My early woodworking focus was furniture and flat work. I started my journey into woodturning in 2010 when I purchased a mini lathe to make pens and small segmented bowls. I purchased a large lathe when I retired and joined Midsouth Woodturners Guild in 2013. I quickly took advantage of the MSWG mentor program to help me learn skills and techniques to improve my turning. Turning wood and watching the grain coming alive as I sanded and finished the piece has always enchanted me. It never gets old. No two pieces are ever the same. My goals are to improve my skills and help others to learn and enjoy the hobby that has brought me so much enjoyment.
