An easy way to make a versatile spindle tool
Emma used a round skew in her demo and I observed members being very interested in it. I even saw one member looking to buy one on line.
I have been using the one ones I made for years with different size and tip shapes.
Years ago when killing time at John C. Campbell Folk School I found an old article on how to make one.
Below is a link to the article so you can make your own. It also makes a great three point tool.

The pictures below illustrate some of the available logs and boles (there’s a handy 25-cent jargon!) Glen has several species available: oak (red & white), walnut, cherry, and a few others.
To take advantage of Glenn’s offer, you MUST call him directly to arrange access to the site. He has waited for the “high-heat” week to pass, now it’s time to harvest your needs/wants!

Directions: I-40 east to Exit 25. Pass ramps to I-269 S & N, continue to light, turn right. Drive entry is ¾ of a mile on left (east) side of road, across from Donelson Elementary School and about 100 feet back from road. His house is not visible from the road.
Call ahead with estimated time of arrival and Glen will meet you at the gate.
