Below photo is of the MSWG sales booth in 2024
Now is the time to gather all your woodturning and sell them at the MSWG Annual Pink Palace Craft Fair booth. MSWG has what is considered one of the best sales locations and several members have made well over $1000 in profit.
Also, you can enjoy making tops for the children as a woodturning demonstrator. You will never forget a child's delight when they add color to a top you turned for them and then they spin the top for the first time. It is a WOW moment you will not forget.
Below are photos (slideshow format) from 2023 booth and demonstration.

Demonstrators
There will be two MSWG lathes for making tops using baseball bat billets and dowel pins. If you have never made a top this way, it is easy and fun, and we will train you. (We will not be turning pens or bowls this year.)
You will need to bring several items:
Face shield or safety glasses with permanent side shields (required)
Parting tool - not the thin blade type. 1/8" and 3/16" work great. NO 1/16" thin-blade tools.
Spindle and/or bowl gouge
Small pieces of 120 sandpaper
Chatter tool or texturing tools if you have them
Tools must be in a canvas tool bag, cart or 5-gallon bucket, clearly marked with your name! (NO CARDBOARD BOXES).
You are responsible for any personal belongings; the club offers no replacement coverage.
If you do not have the tools listed above, contact Joseph Voda (in advance!) and he will work out a solution.
Provided - Scroll chuck & live center, wood, dowels, super glue & activator, color markers, drill chuck, and 23/64" drill bit.
(If you choose to bring your own drill chuck and drill bit, it MUST be 23/64" to work with the dowels provided.)
Provided - Safety glasses for the children (needed when they are coloring)
Sale and Sales Booth
Typically, only 3 members and the cashier are in the booth at any one time due to limited space. MSWG will have seating space (aka "the bullpen") outside the booth for additional volunteers.
25% of each sale's proceeds go to MSWG and 75% of sale proceeds go to the turner (pre-tax basis)
Items should be priced by the turner without sales tax. Taxes will be calculated at time of sale and added to item price.
All items need to be priced with a removable label or tie-on tag.
Label/Tag must include (legibly written)
First name initial and last name (i.e., B Wolfe)
Price before tax
Hint: Avery removable labels (#5148) 1/2" x 3/4" work well
Items to be sold must be brought to the event location and picked up by the turner (or other individual designated by the turner)
Items can be brought to the MSWG booth on set-up day (Wed., Sept. 25 at 1:00 p.m.) OR during the sale (Fri., Sat., Sun.)
Reminder - there is no entry fee for those picking up merchandise after 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
MSWG Treasurer will issue checks for turner proceeds in the week following the sale.
