Finish or Special Processes:

Mike Mahoney Walnut Oil Utility finish - is 100% high linoleic acid walnut oil, completely natural and food safe. There are no chemical driers. The oil has been heat-treated to make the oil dry faster and to remove any possible allergens. Linoleic acid is a particular acid that is naturally found in walnut oil.

Bowl is for decoration or dry utility. Utility in this case means NO wet foods, wet oils (salad), fruit or vegetables that can damage wood with their liquids, Good items include decorations, potato chips, popcorn , crackers, etc. Makes a great bowl for bread and dinner rolls..

If/when the bowl looks like it needs to be oiled, use a drying oil like Mike Mahoney, Walnut Oil Utility (most good cutting board oils like Boos Block Mystery Oil also work). Avoid using vegetable or olive oils - they can turn sticky and spoil over time.
