Slimline Pen

Learn to use a woodturning lathe to make a pen.
(This is for new pen turners and 
offers one-on-one training)

The Plan

  • Location: The Woodwork Shop

  • When:  April 6, 2024

  • Class Length: 1 ¼ hours

    • Time:  9:30 am to 10:45 am (5 slots)

    • Time: 11:00 am to 12:15 pm (5 slots)

    • Time: 12:30 am to 1:45 pm (5 slots)

  • Cost: Free to MSWG members

  • Non-members: please see THE DEAL section

  • Supplies: All provided

  • Tools: Provided or bring your own

  • Bring your own safety glasses and/or face shield

  • Arrive 30 minutes early 

How to Register

 
  • Current MSWG members, call Rick Gillespie at (901) 619-6308​ to reserve your time slot.

  • Non-club members wanting to register,

  1. call The Wood Workshop at (901) 755-7355​ and ask for Rita Dean to reserve your time slot.

  2. Fill out the registration and pay on line using the link below.

The Deal

  • Must be a member* or join the Mid South Woodturners Guild at a yearly cost of $40 (youth $15) to be paid at time of registration.

  • You will receive one-on-one training to make a wood pen from a kit and you will get to keep your first pen.

  • Club members receive a 10% discount card that can be used once a month for a year to The Woodwork Shop (some restrictions apply).

  • New memberships include monthly MSWG club woodturning meetings/demonstrations, multiple outside activities, and the experience of learning the art and craft of woodturning for the remainder of 2024.

that you be a MSWG club member.
